How to Design with MyKleenexTissue.com

Building your own personalized MyKleenexTissue Oval tissue carton is a quick and easy process. Follow the steps outlined below for best results.

Step 1. Choose a Background
The first step in creating your own Kleenex® oval tissue carton is to choose a background. Our designers have put together a wonderful collection of designs for you to choose from. In addition, we will be updating these backgrounds often for seasons and holidays. Choose your background by scrolling through the thumbnails at the top of the Canvas and clicking on the one you like. You can change the background at any time so try a few and see what works for you!

Step 2. Add a photo
The MyKleenexTissue.com Canvas lets you upload photos to your design. To do this, simply click on the “Add Your Photo” button. Next click the "Browse" button and find on your computer the *.jpg file you want to upload.  Next you need to read through the agreement stating that you own the rights to or are licensed to use the photo you are uploading. It is very important that you respect the laws on copyright that govern ownership. If you agree to the terms, click on the check box. Once you have agreed to the terms, click “Add Image”.

Finding a Suitable Photo
The space you have for your design is about 5” by 15” so photos that are landscape work the best. The ideal photo is a 4”x6” (standard upcropped format) that is 1200 pixels tall x 1800 pixels wide at 300dpi. Black and white photos are popular, and color photos have a powerful impact. It's your choice. Just make sure it is clear, sharp and has suitable contrast. Washed out photos will give you washed out results.

Please note the maximum height and width of images is 2880 pixels. It is recommended that you shrink images before uploading if your image exceeds those dimensions.

Scanning the Photo Into Your Computer
To place a photo on to the Canvas you will need a copy of that photo on your computer. If you do not have a digital copy of the photo you want to use you can scan a “hard” copy into your computer. Scan your photos at a minimum of 300 dpi. For best results, resize your photo according to the 4" inches (1200px) tall and 6" inches (1800px) wide guidelines. Save your photo on your computer in a place you will find it again.

If your digital image is a different size or orientation than the optimal 4” x 6” you can still use it in your design, but you may not be able to find a picture frame that will fit.

If your digital image is less that 300 dpi you can still use it but be aware the quality of your personalized oval will not be as good.  Kleenex® Brand is not responsible for poor image quality.

3. Adjust the Photo
Once you have the photo on the Canvas you can move the photo by clicking on it and dragging where you would like it. In addition, you can rotate the photo and change its size by using the buttons below the Canvas. Remember, making the photo larger will likely reduce its quality.

4. Add ClipArt
Use the Add ClipArt button on top of the Canvas to add fun design elements. Just click the Add ClipArt button then select the art you want to add. You can then move, resize, and rotate the ClipArt.

5. Add Picture Frames
Use the Add Frames button on top of the Canvas to add a picture frame. The picture frames are a fixed proportion that will fit a 4” tall by 6” wide image. If your photo matches these proportions these frames will fit perfectly; just add them and drag them over your photo. You can rotate and resize the picture frame to keep it lined up with your photo.

6. Add text and change text font and color
Use the Add Text button on top of the Canvas to add your personalized message. Type in your message and then use the “font” and “color” buttons to change the text to look just the way you want it.

7. Preview your oval in 3D
When you are done designing your personalized Kleenex® oval tissue carton, click on the 3D Preview button to see what it looks like in 3D. You can use the sliders on the side and bottom to rotate your oval and see all of it.

To preview the carton, your system will need to use a media player. We have found that Macromedia Shockwave Player works best for viewing the 3-D image of your carton design. If you are interested, a free copy is available through Adobe Systems, Inc. at the following link:

Please note that installing shockwave will require you to shut down your browser. Make sure to save your design before installing shockwave.

8. Place an order

Please double check and triple check your design. Because the design is personal and we make it right away for you, we cannot offer any returns, refunds or cancellations. Once you place the order it will be made just as you have created it.

11. Access your saved designs
Once you create your account you will have a place to store your designs. Clicking on “save” in the Canvas will save your design to your account where you can see the 3D thumbnail. Double clicking the design in your account will take you directly to the Canvas to work on that design.
